Kelli's Microblading/PMU FAQ

-Microblading can last 12+ months. Keep in mind that microblading is designed to lighten and fade out, and some clients may notice they need a color boost around 8 or 9 months in order to maintain their microbladed brows.
-Though you may still have a couple hair strokes left after 2 years, you may not have fully shaped brows.
-Skin type, medication, sun exposure, sweating, and skincare routines can all effect the life of our microbladed brows.
-Microblading is done with a manual tool, NOT WITH A MACHINE.
-Microblading is not as aggressive as traditional permanent cosmetics
-Microblading over previously tattooed brows in not recommended if more than 80% of the previous tattoo is still visible. If you have previously tattooed/microbladed brows, an in-person consultation must take place before booking your 1st session.
-Microblading has a 50/50 chance of working over scar tissue.
-Microblading while you’re taking antibiotics is NOT recommended, as it can affect your pigment retention while healing.
-I do not microblade clients who are pregnant or breast feeding.
-Pain levels vary by person. We use a topical numbing cream with 5% lidocaine, so the better your skin takes to the lidocaine, the less pain you will feel.
-I do all permanent makeup services in 2 sessions, 6-8 weeks apart. At session 1, I focus on shape, symmetry and filling in as many hair strokes as I can. At session 2, I focus on building density.
-Your second session is only included in the original pricing, if you return within the 6-8 week time frame.
-A third session maybe required to achieve your desired look. Especially if you had issues with bleeding, or swelling during your 1st session. Medication and poor aftercare could also result in needing a 3rd session. A third session is not included in the quoted price.
-Most redness and swelling should be gone within 24 hours
-Scabbing should not occur during your Microblading healing process, as long as you follow the aftercare instructions thoroughly.

-Scabbing may occur during your permanent makeup healing process in areas where shading was added.
-At your 1st session, you’ll start with filling out your consent packet, paying your balance, and booking your follow up. Next I will stencil out your brow shape. Once YOU approve the shape, I place the numbing cream on the brows and let it set for 15 min while I continue to set up my station. I then swatch pigment choices onto your skin and help you pick your pigment color. Once YOU approve the color, I remove the numbing cream and begin microblading. This session is booked for 2 hours.
-Hair strokes must be placed with enough space between them so that they can heal and soften properly. If strokes are placed too close together during the 1st session, they will soften and heal into each other and won’t look like hair strokes.
-At your second session, I’ll start with checking your pigment retention and discussing how your healing process went. Then I’ll apply numbing cream and finish setting up my station while it sets for 15 min. Once I remove the numbing cream I begin adding density where I can, and perfecting the brow. This session is booked for 90 minutes.
Following our aftercare instructions is key to proper healing and pigment retention.
-48 hours prior to your session, I ask that you stop ingesting caffeine, alcohol, or medication that could thin the blood. This includes allergy medicine. The more you bleed during your session, the less your skin will retain pigment, and you could end up needing a 3rd session.
-24 hours prior to your session, I ask that you do not work out.

-Do not smoke within 2 hours of your appointment.
-Please limit your guests to just one adult 18+ years of age. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by another adult over 18 years old.
-Your 1st session must be booked within 30 days of signing all the consultation forms.
